Edelweiss is a breathtaking community located along Traverse mountain in Draper, Utah featuring panoramic views of both Salt Lake and Utah valley. It is an ideal location for all lifestyles with easy access to both hiking trails and the urbane bustle. With its valley views and proximity to numerous daily activities, there’s no wonder we decided to build beautiful homes in one of the most coveted locations in Utah.

Before building, we wanted to ensure that the area was primed to create beautiful lifestyles. While exploring, we discovered infinite entertainment opportunities just minutes from the community. Here are our top 10 favorite things to do in Draper within 10 minutes of Edelweiss.

1. Mountain biking is a popular pastime for Draper residents and visitors alike. Draper Cycle Park is an expansive trail network including short trails with stunts, pump tracks, and jump lines. ­­­­­­­­­­­­The park is designed for bikers of all levels and is free of charge to the public.

2. The point of the mountain produces perfect conditions for high winds almost daily. The Flight Park is a place for beginner and experienced hang gliding and paragliding flyers. Take the jump and start living on the wild side!

3. The Draper amphitheater is an outdoor arena that presents plays, concerts, movies, and other diverse performances with the mountains as a natural backdrop. Events occur throughout the summer, many of which are free of charge.

4. Draper Historical Park is a beautiful spacious area ideal for tasty picnics with a small-town feel. A stroll around the park finds an outdoor gallery with historical insights about the first settlers and influencers of Draper. A favorite for kids and adults alike is the pavilion at the heart of the park. Try standing in the center of the pavilion and whispering to hear your voice echo through the dome.

5. Pirate O’s is a gourmet market with tasty treats and gadgets from all over the world. The building itself was originally built as a theatre and is over 100 years old. Stop by for a unique treat or try out the deli. It will surely be a unique experience for the whole family.

6. The Draper Library is an architectural must see. Styled reading nooks are distributed throughout the secluded children, teen, and adult sections and large windows fill bookshelves with light. The picturesque views of the ever-changing mountains make it the perfect place to cozy up with a good book in the winter or find relief from the heat in the summer.

7. Need a fun outing for your furry friend? The Dayland Dog Park is a dog’s adventure land with slopes and rivers to run around and explore. A paved path circles the park for dog owners to follow while enjoying beautiful mountain views.

8. Right across the street, the Skate Park at Smith Fields is a popular location for kids and teens to practice their skills and increase their talents. The park provides a safe place for skateboarders to learn, show off new techniques, and get to know new people.

9. Take a hike! Edelweiss in Draper is an outdoor utopia with miles of trails and breathtaking views. Check out a few of these hikes while in the area.

Clarks Trail is a moderate 3.1 miles out and back. It is known for beautiful wildflowers and denies mountain bikers from riding downhill, so there’s no need to worry about what’s around the bend. The trail ends at the intersection with Ann’s Trail. Turn back or keep going for a longer hike.

Red Potato is made for families. It is a kid friendly 1.7-mile hike in and out and with benches for resting along the way!

10. Time for lunch? Check out Food for Thought, a charming eatery located next to Draper Historical Park. The quaint café hosts breakfast and lunch in a historic home built in the early 1900s. If you’re looking for a little something different, Food for Thought should be your destination.
